Liyuan is a Research Specialist in the Department of Pathology at the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine. She holds a master’s degree in biochemical sciences and has extensive experience in biomarker discovery, proteomics, and diagnostic assay development. She joined Dr. Hui Zhang’ s laboratory in 2023. Her current work focuses on mass spectrometry–based proteomics, including glycoproteomics and phosphoproteomics, as well as automated sample preparation for large-scale cancer studies such as CPTAC. Prior to joining Johns Hopkins, Liyuan held R&D and project management roles at biotech companies in China, where she developed and launched clinical immunoassays and lateral flow diagnostics for cancer, cardiovascular, and thrombotic biomarkers.
