Rodrigo received his Bachelor of Science degree in Biological Sciences from the University of Maryland, College Park in 2018. His background consists of proteomic research at the J. Craig Venter Institute in the lab of Dr. Rembert Pieper and Dr. Yanbao Yu, utilizing proteomic-based mass spectrometry to identify differential protein profiles of microorganisms and oral squamous cell carcinoma. He joined the Center for Biomarker Discovery in 2018 as a research technologist. He provides operation and maintenance of laboratory equipment such as the Orbitrap Fusion Lumos and EASY nLC-1200 in order to maintain consistent high performance and quality. He is involved in several NCI proteomic initiatives including the Early Detection Research Network (EDRN) and the Clinical Proteomics Tumor Analysis Consortium (CPTAC).
